Polishing Standards

Thermal Control.
Factory-Grade Luster.

The intrinsic surface finish of a Çimstone slab is achieved at the factory using advanced Breton™ calibration lines. Fabricators must only polish the cut edges. Proper thermal management during edge polishing is critical; dry sanding generates excessive heat, permanently damaging the quartz matrix and causing invisible micro-fissures that lead to delayed chipping.

Wet Polishing Thermal Control

Strict Processing Rules

  • Wet Polishing Only: All edge profiling and polishing must be performed using continuous clean water injection and wet diamond polishing pads. Absolutely no dry polishing is permitted.
  • RPM Limits: Machine speeds must never exceed 3,500 RPM. When utilizing 1000-grit pads or higher, speeds must be reduced further to prevent resin burn.
02

Chemical & Surface Bans

  • Chemical Ban: Do not apply aftermarket polishers, waxes, fillers, sealers, or gloss-enhancing chemicals to Çimstone surfaces.
  • Seam Polishing: Polishing should not be performed over seams afterward to preserve the factory calibration and finish.
